Farrell & Norton Naval Architects - Quality Service for the Marine Industry
83' Fishing Trawler

Project Description: The vessel was designed to meet ABS standards and was split into transverse framing and longitudinal framing. The areas forward and aft of the vessel's fish hold are longitudinally framed and the fish hold is transversely framed. The boat has a single, hard chine and is constructed completely out of mild steel. The vessel was entirely lofted and NC cut for ease of construction and fit-up at the yard. The shape and entrance angle of the hull were designed to help the boat push through the water. The vessel is fitted with double plate bilge keels to help reduce the drag on the vessel and help strengthen the bilge keels when the vessel is hauled. Care was taken to keep the bottom of the vessel as clear as possible to reduce the resistance and maintain the maximum speed.
